Runway: Clash of the Coutures

On Saturday August 30, 2008, New York Fashion Connect held their first annual Pre-Fashion Week fashion show, entitled Clash of the Coutures, at Hotel Pennsylvania, New York City. Ten designers presented truly creative pieces in an evening that was headlined by designer Jazmine Whitley’s Li Cari. The host of the show was Amanda Diva from VH1, who did a great job in building the right kind of excitement and kept it going all the way to the end (ten designers!). Many special guests and dignitaries attended this event, including Derick Halliman (owner of Mist H20 and Black Enterprise Magazine Entrepreneur of the Year, 2007), Lisa Jackson and Bianca Golden (from America’s Next Top Model), and Mic Barber (from I Want to Work for Diddy).
