Runway: Glance 2009

On Saturday November 14, 2009, JRG Entertainment hosted their third annual hot couture fashion show, dubbed Glance, at Brooklyn Public Library, Grand Army Plaza, Brooklyn, NY. It was special. It was beautiful. It was spectacular.

Despite it being a misty evening, guests made up of celebrities, dignitaries, sponsors, media personnel, and fashion lovers arrived early to royal red carpet treatment. Cameras flashed, cocktails splashed, and chatter filled the air in Brooklyn Library. We overheard one lady telling her friend that she has not been to the library in ages. Something truly amazing was underway.

The show opened with a beautiful song and hot performance by singer Shermain. Then Lu wasted no time in getting the show started. Five designers presented at Glance 2009, with a cast of over 25 female models. The designers were Tiki Fashion, TBA Clothing, Cheay Rochelle, Shar Styles, and Derek Moore. The host for the evening was Lu Celania Sierra, supermodel, actor, choreographer, and runway coach for Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants. Lu added a sweet and flavor to the show. She was awesome.

Each designer showcased pieces that had their very own sheek and special DNA. Raw aesthetic talent was on display. We loved every minute of the show and must congratulate and commend the designers, the models, and of course JRG Entertainment. We can hardly wait for Glance 2010.

Shooting Star: Hal Linton, Artiste

DSC02634 copy
Some people say Hal Linton sounds a lot like Marvin Gaye. Some say he sounds a lot like Al Green. Then there are those who compare him to Prince (or the artiste formerly known as Prince). For us, Hal Linton is Hal Linton, a musical genius with his own versatile DNA. But there is no disagreement here. We all agree that he is very talented and that he brings to music a brilliant melody that the world has been yearning for.

On November 5, 2009, we traveled to Barbados, Hal’s home country, to attend his private listening and thank you party, held at Black Pearl nightclub and restaurant in Christ Church. It was a distinguished an illustrious event that was attended by Barbados government officials, dignitaries, celebrities, and other special guests. Anticipation and expectations ran high as the guests waited for Hal to deliver tracks from his upcoming album, titled Return From The Future. And delivered he did, in fine style. His performance was amazing and resounding. All who were present, including us, loved every minute of it and wanted more. And even after we got more we still wanted more. We just could not get enough. But unfortunately, the evening had to come to an end.

DSC03477 copy
Now the world waits for the release of the first single from Return From The Future, expected in January 2010. The album, Return From The Future, is expected to be released in the summer of 2010. Take note of these dates and start counting down. Hal Linton is one artiste you will one to hear.

Hal Linton is signed to Universal Motown Records. We here at Revenge Fashion Magazine wish Hal Linton good luck and continued success.

The MAGIC Marketplace, Las Vegas 2009

MAGIC - Alice - 400 copy
The most recent MAGIC Marketplace (expo) was held from August 31, 2009 – September 2, 2009, Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas, Nevada. We were there and it was awesome. For those who don’t know, The MAGIC Marketplace is the preeminent trade event in the international fashion industry, hosting global buyers and sellers of men’s, women’s and children’s apparel, footwear, accessories and sourcing resources.

There were so many things to see and do at the expo. There was a surprise tea party, hosted by Disney in the main hall; Ambigram Couture, by J. Seun, and Urban Legend, by Ed Davis were present – both companies are based in Atlanta, GA, and mainly feature men’s and women’s urban wear; Chocolate Bags, a division of Chinese Laundry was present - these bags have been out for about a year and a half…they are decadent, large, lush leather bags; Motorcycles from the Christian Audigier collection; There were several booths featuring Ed Hardy clothing and apparel; Women’s dresses by Esley, beautifully designed, very well put together, great colors, and on the cutting edge; There were random models walking the showroom in designs by different designers; There were graffiti artists; Helping Minds was there – this vendor gives 50% of his profits to people in need locally and globally, such as the Susan G. Komen Foundation that provides help for women with breast cancer; Laguna Beach Jean Co. – men’s denim and sportswear from Southern California…hip, fun, and very California; Girls were riding around advertising Skull Candy headphones…If you stopped by their booth, you could trade in your old headphones for new ones; and there was a tribute to DJ AM, who died recently. Of course, there were many more great and exciting things to see and do at MAGIC.

Teaser: Michael Masoy's Fashion Keeps Fantasy Alive

On September 10, 2009, The MichaelMasoy Agency & House of Masoy held their first annual benefit fashion show dubbed Fashion Keeps Fantasy Alive, New York, NY. Coming right here soon.

DSC02467-400 copy
In an effort to help heal the growing population of men, women and children who are living with or affected by HIV/AIDS, The MichaelMasoy Agency and the House of Masoy present Fashion Keeps Fantasy Alive, its first charity fashion show. Beneficiaries of this event are two incredibly noteworthy organizations: Keep A Child Alive, which works to fight HIV/AIDS in Africa, and The Family Center, which serves the needs of children and families impacted by life-threatening illness.

DSC02494-400 copy
The MichaelMasoy Agency hopes to increase awareness around the globally devastating impact of HIV/AIDS and to bring about a greater sense of community, understanding, involvement and empowerment to those directly touched by HIV/AIDS. Over twenty seven years after HIV was identified, more than 23 million people have died from AIDS. There are more than 40 million currently living with HIV worldwide, and 2.3 million are children under the age of 15. As the number of persons living with and impacted continues to increase, we proclaim our commitment to the promotion of education and prevention. With heart and soul, we act to help counter the course of a pandemic that continues to threaten the sustainability of families, communities and nations around the world.

The MichaelMasoy Agency has linked arms with other concerned parties in the fashion and entertainment communities in order to continue to help buffer the threat of HIV/AIDS. Through Fashion Keeps Fantasy Alive we commit our energy to those who have been made particularly vulnerable by the pandemic, such as in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Caribbean Basin; and we do so by supporting the effort to increase access to life saving medications, a persistent challenge for millions worldwide.

DSC02390 copy
This charity fashion show features the work of several of New York’s hottest rising designers and showcases the premiere models of The MichaelMasoy Agency. It is our hope that this benefit fashion show will pave the way for many future events of its kind. This inaugural event serves as the official launch of The MichaelMasoy Agency, a new, promising and multifaceted fashion production agency.
