Jeantrix Clothing Company's Trashy Warehouse Fashion Show

The two designers (Deric Crawley and Muhammad Abdul-Basit) at Jeantrix Clothing Company, Philadelphia, PA, bring a rare kind of creativity to fashion. They have the ability to literally create something from nothing, beautifully. On Saturday October 4, 2008, they held a fashion show at a warehouse in Philadelphia, PA, dubbed the Trashy Warehouse Fashion Show. They converted a dusty dirty warehouse into a comfortable suite with a sort of Disturbia (from Rihanna’s music video by the same name) theme to it. Then at show time they gave the audience a special and memorable lesson in creativity. Using clean garbage, and other materials that could be easily found in one’s garbage, they created attractive unique pieces that effectively demonstrated their creativity. We loved every moment of it. Of course, there were other pieces that were not related to the garbage trashy theme.

But the Trashy Warehouse Fashion Show was much more than a plain old fashion show. The designers used the runway to make environmental and social commentaries and to challenge us to rethink everything in order to make our lives and this world a better place. We love what they are doing and we are asking that you show them love and support them.
