Runway: Bikini Under the Bridge 2008

On Sunday July 27, 2008, JRG Entertainment rolled out the red carpet and the white runway for the 3^rd annual Bikini Under the Bridge fashion show, held at Dumbo, Brooklyn, NY. For a moment, or two, it looked like the event would be rained out, but the rain went away and the two shows went ahead in full force. Yes, you read right. There were two great shows. The first show was at 5:00 p.m. and the second show was at 7:00 p.m. Five designers presented in each of the two shows, making a grand total of 10 designers. Performances were by singer LaWanda Michelle, at the beginning of the first show, and singer Shermaine, at the beginning of the second show. Special guests included Super Model Stacey McKenzie, New York Congress Woman Yvette Clarke, and way too many other celebrities and dignitaries for us to list here. It was another awesome JRG Entertainment event.

Urban: Fashion Fabulosity

On Sunday July 27, 2008, ButterFli Wings Foundation held a benefit fashion show (called Fashion Fabulosity) at Mingles (nightclub), Bronx, NY. The proceeds from the show are for back-to-school supplies for needy children in Jamaica. Six very creative designers presented truly fine and trendy clothing. Performances were by KO, Baby Chris, and the Reggae Twins. DJ-6 was at the control tower and he dropped madd sikkK beats throughout the entire night.

A very special thank you to all the designers, models, performers, and supporters, who all did their part to make this benefit fashion show a success.

Urban: Fashion Show and Hip Hop Party

On Tuesday July 22, 2008, Qu Qu Events hosted a hot urban fashion show and hip hop party at Club Esko, NYC. It was a night where talent and creativity shared the same stage. Three fabulous designers presented, in between some of the illest up-and-coming rappers spittin’ well-put-together rhymes over some serious head-poppin’ underground beats. It was spectacular!

Revelry: Jamrock ReggaeFest 2008

It started out on Friday the 13th (of June 2008) at Element (nightclub), NYC, and ended Saturday the 14th at Hammerstein Ballroom, NYC. Both nights were wild and exciting. Yup, when Link Up Media hosts an event, you can bet your last buck that it will be sikkK. Jamrock ReggaeFest 2008 was another Link Up Media success. Big up Squeeze and the entire Link Up Media team.

Special guests passing thru the pre-party included Ce’Cile (Bad Gal), Christopher Martin, and Assassin; all three would later rip the stage at the Hammerstein Ballroom. Other artistes that performed included Da’Ville, DeMarco, Kymani Marley, Mr. Vegas, and Mr. dancehall king himself, Beenie Man. Of course, Beenie Man performed even though he had broken his arm a day or two earlier while playing soccer with friends in Jamaica. But a broken arm did not prevent Beenie Man from rippin the stage. Stellar!

Ms. American Boy, Estelle, was present and showed non-stop love to everyone. Big up Estelle. Straight! Many other special guest and dignitaries were present. So many names, so little time.
